National Mustard Day is celebrated annually at the Mount Horeb Mustard Museum on the first Saturday
in August. It is a fun-filled day for the whole family and has traditionally included "free" Oscar Mayer hot dogs as well as music, games, other entertainment, mustard samples, and more. The Mustard Museum has been the official sponsor of this event since 1991.
National Mustard Day 2009 is history!
Saturday, August 1st National Mustard Day in Mount Horeb entertains thousands of mustard lovers. Main Street from Second Street to Grove will close for the festivities that will include:
- Opening ceremonies accompanied by the POUPON U Accordion Band
- Live music by Staff Infection and the Red Hot Horn Dawgs
- Free Oscar Mayer Jumbo Beef Franks (*mustard required)
- Mustard games galore
- Interactive kid's rock-n-roll show "Kids Are People, Too"
- Cheese and mustard pairings from Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board
- Giant cheese maze and face painting
- Announcement of the winners of the 2009 Mustard Writing Contest
- More music by Andrew D. Huber and friends
- Mustard sampling by Grey Poupon, Hawkwind, Robert Rothschild and The Mustard Girl
